  • Forms a ‘special cell’ to guide and advise universities to enhance standard of education

The University has been asked to apply for international rankings this year also, the order said. Similarly, Acharya Nagarjuna University, JNTU-Kakinada, JNTU-Anantapur, Sri Padmavati Mahila Vishwavidyalaya, Sri Venkateswara University and Sri Krishna Devaraya University have also been advised to apply for International Rankings," the order stated.

The State government also set up a 'Special Cell' for guiding the universities on how to get international rankings in providing best standards of education to students and to stay among the best universities in the world. This cell would monitor the project for international rankings for AP State universities to make AP a knowledge Hub," the order explained.

The members of the panel have also been asked to coordinate with the universities concerned to ensure that the action be taken as per plan and targets. "The members of the newly set up cell should meet for every ten days and submit the progress report on the project to the State government," Sumita Dawra, principal secretary of the higher education department stated.
