The medical Council of India (MCI) team inspected the Siddhartha Medical College along with the Government hospitals in the city on Tuesday. The team inquired the college administration about the construction of teaching and non-teaching staff quarters in the locale.

Vijayawada: Medical Council of India (MCI) team inspected the Siddhartha Medical College along with the Government hospitals in the city on Tuesday. The team inquired the college administration about the construction of teaching and non-teaching staff quarters in the locale.

In the light of adding 50 more seats to the college to the existing 100, the special team stopped by the campus to look into its infrastructure facilities that fulfill the criterion. According to the details, the committee comprising of pediatrician Badresh Vyas from Gujarat, anatomy professor H G Agarwal from Bihar and pharmacology specialist Vasanth Chouhan from Karnataka along with a few others visited the facilities.

They inspected simultaneously at the Old Government Hospital in Hanumanpet, which is being used as the maternity hospital along with the new Government Hospital near Ring Road. Also, the team checked into the facilities at the Rural Health Training Centre in Peda Avutapalli.

Principal Dr Sasank Babu, vice-principal K S N Prasad, Hospital Superintendent Surya Kumari and MCI Coordinator Raja Gopal were
present.
