Speaking to media persons after the Cabinet meeting, the Chief Minister said that the digitisation of land records would help in a big way for getting necessary information on lands. Naidu also informed that the Cabinet approved setting up of four private agriculture colleges, four horticulture colleges, two veterinary colleges, two agri-business colleges, one dairy technology institute and 2 fisheries colleges in private sector from this academic year.

Allots 550 acres to various institutes and hospitals in capital region

He said that the constructions in Simhachalam devasthanam lands would be regularised. “The Kakinada port would be developed as a commercial port under Swiss challenge system. As much as 970 acres of land was allotted to DRDO in Chintaluru and Urulova villages of Visakhapatnam district for the defence project,” he added.

The Chief Minister said that Urban Township and Infrastructure Development Corporation (UTIDC) would be set up to take up housing projects in the State. “Cabinet decided to complete the Vamsadhara project at a cost of Rs 43.40 crore and Rs 20.20 crore allotted for Veligonda project.

It was also decided to allot 150 acres of land to Indo UK Institute of Health Sciences at Rs 50 lakh per acre, 200 acres each to VIT, SRM and Amruta, 50 acres to National Institute of Tool Design, 25 acres to HRD, 25 acres to Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam. A total of 550 acres were allotted to hospitals and educational institutions in capital region,” he added.
