Emotional send off to AP staff
Forgetting rancour that built up between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh staff at the height of separate Statehood agitation, emotional scenes were witnessed when the AP employees bid adieu to their counterparts. Their eyes have welled up with tears.
Hyderabad: Forgetting rancour that built up between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh staff at the height of separate Statehood agitation, emotional scenes were witnessed when the AP employees bid adieu to their counterparts. Their eyes have welled up with tears.
Telangana State employees were seen embracing their counterparts with tears in their eyes, pleading with the latter to forget the emotional outbursts against them at the height of the Statehood agitation. On their part, the AP employees too had pleaded with their counterparts to enshrine the pleasant memories of their friendship in their hearts.
"Though we have relationship here (Hyderabad), we are shifting to Vijayawada to contribute our bit to the development of new Andhra Pradesh,” said a government employee. The AP State government is arranging different facilities for the convenience of the employees. Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu flagged off a train between Hyderabad and Vijayawada recently to facilitate the employees to have hassle-free travel.
Post-bifurcation in June 2014, Andhra Pradesh shares Hyderabad is common capital for a period of 10 years as per the Andhra Pradesh Re-organisation Act. Thereafter, it will become part and parcel of Telangana.
But the AP government has decided to shift the seat of administration to Amaravati and it has led to employees from Telangana State being shifted to the new capital.
