Vijayawada: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Monday invited the Russian government to partner with the State government in developing the new capital, Amaravati.

The Chief Minister on his tour in Russia addressed Innoprom 2016, the international industrial trade fair being held in Yekaterinburg.

The Chief Minister said that both India and Russia shared better relations for several decades and the two nations are natural friends. He said Andhra Pradesh, a State with just two years of past after bifurcation, is looking for global investments and global partnership for its development.

He said Russia is known for its technology development and its initiative in Andhra Pradesh would be of great help.

He said that the long sea coastal line for the State would be an advantage for Russia to start its investments.

He said India under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi was marching a head with 7.6 per cent growth rate and was set to touch double digit shortly.

He further said that the government headed by Modi at the Centre and his government in Andhra Pradesh were marching towards development with several initiatives.

Russian Industries and Commerce Minister Denis Manturov welcomed India’s decision to invite foreign investment. The government’s decision allowing FDIs had made the path for development of India easy, he said.

The Russian Minister also expressed his desire to partner with India on investments. He wanted the investments in metallurgy, aerospace and pharma sectors to increase between the two countries.

He said that the Innoprom partnership between the two countries would help in improving and strengthening the relationships between the two countries.

Earlier, the Russian Commerce Minister inaugurated the Andhra Pradesh pavilion in the Innoprom 2016.

Union Minister for Commerce Nirmala Sitaraman announced that the business relations between India and Russia should cross 30 billion US dollars by 2025.

Stating that India’s investment in Russia had touched 8 billion US dollars, she wanted Russia to increase their investment in India, which is now at 3 billion US dollars.

She said that the two countries are interested to increase their investments in the fields of transport, pharma and other manufacturing sectors.

Later in the evening Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu held one on one interaction with Russian Commerce Minister Denis Manturov.
