Awareness meet for Haj pilgrimage held

​Anantapur: Zilla Parishad chairman Chaman Saab has described ‘Haj’ as an important element of Islamic faith and observed that it was Allah's directive to Muslim brethren to go on Haj pilgrimage.

Addressing an awareness meeting at Royal Function Hall here on Tuesday, Chaman and local MLA V Prabhakar Chowdary stated that the Haj is the largest gathering of Muslim brethren to display their unity and devotion. Prof Abdul Salam also spoke on the occasion.

Haj Committee convenor Moulana Mustak Ahmed said that every awareness meetings were being held to give useful tips and advises for a hassle-free pilgrimage and for safe return of the devotees. As many as 250 pilgrims have been selected by the government for the pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia.
