Kurnool (Alur): MLC Geyanand came down heavily on Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu for neglecting Rayalaseema development. He launched a jeepu jata tour at Gulyam village in Halaharvi mandal on Wednesday.

The tour would cover 180 mandal headquarters in 58 days in this region. Speaking on the occasion, the MLC stated that he would exert pressure on the government for the development of Rayalaseema. He alleged that the Chief Minister was only committed to the development of Amaravati.

He demanded the government to take up the construction of Vedavathi project which would cater the drinking water needs of 80 villages besides supplying irrigation water to one lakh acres.

He further demanded the government to grant a package of Rs 50,000 crore for the Rayalaseema development. The MLC visited the Vedavathi River and inspected the water flow. Later, he received applications from the villagers of Gulyam.
