It was an occasion to rejoice for the approximately one lakh government officers and staff, and nearly 15,000 volunteers in three districts Krishna, Guntur and Kurnool. The reason was that the arrangements made for the festival were appreciated by the masses, who had no major complaints.

The role of South Central Railways and the Andhra Pradesh State Road Transportation Corporation was praised as they helped millions in reaching their destinations. From regulating the crowds at the railway stations and the Pandit Nehru Bus Station in Vijayawada to ensuring their safety at the ghats and extending a helping hand to the needy, they won accolades from the people.

However, police did not allow the people to enter the One Town from the low bridge and flyover. The devotees, who had a holy dip in Krishnaveni and other ghats close to Pandit Nehru Bus Station (PNBS) were allowed to go towards the
Indrakeeladri.

In addition, the Pushkaralu pilgrims, who preferred Bhavani Ghat, Pavitrasangamam and other ghats upstream Prakasam Barrage faced difficulty in reaching the temple due to traffic blockades.

The devotees had to take a circuitous route to reach the Kanaka Durga temple. Meanwhile, the personnel deputed for the Pushkaralu returned to their native places. It is learnt that many residents of the city cancelled their tour plans in view of the Pushkaralu.

But they rejoiced as traffic curbs were lifted on Wednesday. Heavy rush was witnessed at bus station and railway station in
the city. Police removed barricades on city roads to facilitate free flow of traffic. Hundreds of RTC buses from other regions returned to their respective depots from Wednesday evening.

Chief Medical officer of Vijayawada Municipal Corporation Gopi Naik said that sanitation workers will clean ghats, roads and other important junctions in the city till Thursday evening.
