After garnering a lot of recognition by making the biggest laddu for the Ganesh puja at Khairatabad in Hyderabad, the popular Tapeswaram sweet eatery Sri Bhaktanjaneya Suruchi Foods is now looking at a new record.

Now, the plans are on to make a laddu weighing 12,500 kgs for an idol of the elephant god in Vizag. Till date, the world's biggest laddu weighed 11,111 kgs and the feat was achieved last year by the Ambaji Mata Temple in Ambala town in Gujarat.

In order to make a 12,500 kgs laddu, the vendor would require 2,400 kg ghee, 600 kg oil, 4,950 kg sugar, 3,350 kgs besan, 400 kg cashew, 125 kg cardamom and 200 kg almond taking the entire cost to around Rs 30 lakh.

Sources reveal that the preparations for the laddu would begin at Suruchi Sweets premises from September 2 and displayed for the public on September 4 before being transported to Vizag.
