Wild elephant runs amok

Chittoor: Panic prevailed at Ramasamudram village in Chittoor district on Sunday when a wild elephant ran amok after straying into the Ramasamudram village in Chittoor district. Villagers ran helter-skelter after seeing the uninvited guest. Later, they shooed away the elephant into the forest.

It is a common scene in the district that the elephants entering the villages and agriculture fields from the reserve forests of Tamil Nadu and damage the crops. Villagers alleged that the officials are not taking measures to curb the elephant menace.
