Vijayawada: In a one-on-one meeting with Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, Governor of AP and TS ESL Narasimhan here on Friday reportedly conveyed the request of Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for transfer of the Secretariat buildings under the control of the AP government in Hyderabad.

Even as the AP Secretariat employees shifted to Velagapudi in Amaravati, the TS government staked claims over the premises. The AP government ran administration from H-South, H-North, K, L and J blocks until the end of September.

According to sources, Naidu expressed his preparedness to resolve all the inter-State issues with Telangana through a dialogue in an amicable manner. Meanwhile, the TDP politburo, which met at the Naidu’s Undavalli residence, raised the bogey by seeking the TS government to build an administrative complex for AP in an ideal location in return for transfer of the Secretariat buildings. The party is of the view that the AP government has the right over the Secretariat for a period of 10 years as per the AP Reorganisation Act.

They asked Union Minister for Science and Technology YS Chowdary to liaise with the TS government over the latter’s claim for settlement of the issue. Naidu was reported to have reiterated his stand for dispute resolution through a dialogue on contentious issues, which included distribution of assets, liabilities and employees between the two States under the 9th and 10th schedules of the Andhra Pradesh State Reorganisation Act, 2014.

It may be recalled that these issues are under the purview of the Sheela Bedi committee. The party resolved to go for an appeal against the Brijesh Kumar Tribunal’s verdict over sharing of the Krishna water between AP and Telangana States.
