Kakinada: A two-member Japanese team assisted by two of their technical associates in India visited Kakinada to provide technical assistance to the State in setting up a power generation unit here through solid waste management. The team was led by Gen Takahashi of JFE Engineering Corporation, Tokyo, Taisuke Watanabe of Ex-Research Institute Limited. Tokyo and their two Indian Associates Soma Bhattacharya of JFE India Engineering Limited and LV Akshay Ranganath of Tide Technocrats Limited visited the 16-acre dumping yard in Kakinada Port area on Friday.

East Godavari NREDCAP, district manager G Satyanarayana accompanied the team during their visit.When questioned on environmental s issues involved, the official said that after the power generation the residues can be utilised in cement manufacturing units.
