Eluru: A 35-year-old husband after suspecting fidelity of his 30-year-old wife axed her to death in Urasamudram village in Chintalapudi mandal of West Godavari district on Friday. According to police, Ranga Lakshmi Narayana (35) of Urasamudram village got married with Jagadeeswari (30) of Bharath Nagar in Dammapeta mandal of Khammam district. Both of them were working as a daily labourer to eke out their livelihood.

Lakshminarayana was suspicious on the fidelity of his wife and for the last three years quarreled with her over this issue. Not bearing the torture, Jagadeeswari several times returned to her parents’ house in Bharath Nagar. On Friday morning when he started a quarrel with his wife, the irate husband axed her on the neck, resulting in immediate dead. Chintalapudi police reached the spot and took him into their custody and sent Jagadeeswari’s body to postmortem to Chintalapudi Government hospital.
