Peddapuram (East Godavari): Minister for Municipal Administration P Narayana said that the government introduced foundation courses for the benefit students from economically – poor backgrounds. He took part in several developmental programmes in the East Godavari district on Tuesday. He addressed the students at an awareness programme at Peddapuram council hall.

Speaking on the occasion, Narayana reiterated that the foundation course was being introduced to provide education for poor people on par with the corporate-run schools. “Government schools have well trained teachers and better education will be provided to students,” he asserted. He observed that foundation courses would be useful for the students who were aspiring for competitive examinations. He maintained that the TDP government was committed to transform the State as educational hub of the country. “These foundation courses will be useful for the students who are aspiring for IIT, engineering and medical courses,” he added.

Later, inaugurating a municipal office in Samalkot, Narayana made it clear that the drinking water would be provided to all the municipalities in the State. Speaking on the occasion, he called upon the people transform towns as plastic and garbage-free by maintaining better sanitation.
He informed that action plans have been formulated for laying of underground drainage system in important cities in the State. He explained that the building plans as well as layout permissions could be obtained from e-seva centers. He added that 5.50 lakh LED bulbs have been distributed in all the municipalities in the State.
