Vijayawada: Minister for Women Empowerment Peethala Sujatha wanted the State Handicrafts Development Corporation to ensure that the prices of handicrafts articles were within the reach of the common man.Speaking at the swearing-in ceremony of the new body of AP Handicrafts Development Corporation Ltd here on Tuesday, the Minister said that only rich people could afford Lepakshi items due to their high prices. She opined that the prices of handicrafts should be within the reach of common people and artisans should make the articles keeping common people in mind.

He said that Lepakshi had set itself a sales target of Rs 38 crore by the end of the financial year 2016-17. The new body would work to bring the corporation close to all sections of people, said Prasad. said. MLAs Bonda Uma Maheswara Rao, Ch Prabhakar, B Thota Rama Rao, P Ramprasad and others were present.
