Chief Minister to be feted in Rajahmundry

Ongole: SC and ST Commission chairman Karem Sivaji announced here on Thursday that the SCs and STs in the State will felicitate Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu in Rajahmundry on November 19.

Speaking to the media, he said that the Chief Minister is striving for the welfare of Dalits and tribals in the State. He felt that the Chief Minister should be felicitated for Pro-Dalit stance.

He said that the government is offering loans with 45 per cent subsidy through industries department and allocated Rs 8,300 crore under SC sub-plan and Rs 3,000 crore under ST sub-plan. The Chief Minister is also planning to install a 125 feet Ambedkar statue in Amaravati and promised to establish Ambedkar Smritivanam Library in 15 acres, he said.

Sivaji said that he toured 13 districts as the chairman of SC and ST Commission in six months and resolved majority of the grievances of the SCs and STs in the State. He said, “In the ‘Dalita Girijanula Mahagarjana’ meeting which is scheduled for November 19 at the Arts College grounds in Rajahmundry, we will felicitate Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.”
