Guntur: The district administration has taken steps to encourage cashless payments in a big way to solve cash crunch. As a part of the programme, they are creating awareness on the need to make cashless payments. In line with this the district administration and lead bank officials, will be conducting a training programme to the officials, here on Tuesday.

“We will impart necessary training to the district officials and they in turn will train the division level employees,” said joint collector Krithika Shukla. Speaking to The Hans India, she detailed the steps taken by the district administration to encourage cashless payments. She said they have already introduced micro ATMs in rythu bazaars to solve shortage of smaller denomination notes.

“We will train 40,000 employees working in the education department on cashless payments. They in turn will train others. Cashless payments will be introduced in the fair price shops. Dealers are directed to open current accounts in ICICI Bank, Andhra Banks for this purpose,” she informed.
