Anantapur: Card based transactions have been picked up at the RTA office here in view of the State government insisting on cashless transactions in the State. On Saturday, the transactions went up to 72% with cards. On Monday it touched 80%. Out of total Rs 2.30 lakh of daily transacted amount, Rs 1,85,565 was received through swipe machines.

As per the statement of Dr Sundar Vaddi, Deputy Transport Commissioner, Anantapur, initially three swipe machines were allotted to the district with each one for Anantapur office, checkpost at Penukonda and Hindupur office.

Now, more swipe machines have been allotted which would ease the day-to-day card transactions in district. As directed by government and department, the RTA in district soon would try to achieve total cardless transactions in district, he added.
