Eluru: MLA Badeti Kota Rama Rao expressed his grief over the demise of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa. The MLA paid tributes to the departed leader by observing a two-minute silence at a programme held at the old bus stand on Tuesday.
He said that Jayalalithaa had left an indelible mark on the society of Tamil Nadu both as an actress and a politician and added that Jayalalitha had served the poor throughout her political career. Government whip Chintamaneni Prabhakar and MLC Ramu Surya Rao also paid tributes to the departed leader on the occasion.
Elsewhere, Narsapur MLA Bandaru Madhava Naidu said the death of Jayalalithaa was a huge loss to the people of Tamil Nadu and the nation. He paid tributes to the departed leader by garlanding her portrait at his office in Narsapur town. The TDP leaders observed two minutes of silence as a mark of respect to the departed soul.
