The special police unearthed two powerful landmines near Bodaput village of Barada panchayat under Munchingput mandal on Friday.
On the orders of superintendent of police Rahul Dev Sharma, additional SP Babuji Attada and bomb disposal team rushed to the spot and diffused them through controlled explosion. Each mine weighed about 10 to 15 kgs.
Earlier, the police unearthed two mines from Rudaka outpost in Peda Bayulu mandal and diffused them.
The SP said that the mines were aimed at killing the police personnel but could also harm innocent public. Both the mines were buried one foot below the surface of bitumen road.
