Hyderabad: The Met department’s bulletin on Monday’s warned of heavy rainfall at isolated places in Prakasam and Nellore districts of south coastal Andhra and Chittoor of Rayalaseema during the next 24 hours under the influence of the cyclonic storm ‘Vardah’.

Decrease in rainfall is the forecast on December 17 and 18. The forecast said light to moderate rain/thundershowers are likely to occur at a few places in south coastal Andhra Pradesh and at isolated aces in the north coastal districts, besides Rayalaseema on December 13 and 14.

After dry weather on December 15, there will be no major change in weather outlook in next three days, it said.

During the last 24 hours ending at 8.30 am isolated rain occurred in coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema, with Sullurpeta and Tada both in Nellore district recording four cm of rainfall each.

While Satyavedu in Chittoor district recorded three cm of rain, there was one cm rain each in Srikalahasti, Thottambedu, Tirupati Airport, Venkatagiri, Gudur and Nellore.

The bulletin said there was a marked rise in the night temperatures at a few places in coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema.

They were markedly above normal at one or two places in both regions.

The lowest minimum temperature of 15 degrees Celsius was recorded in Kadapa.

The other night temperatures recorded in the State were: Nandigama, Kurnool 17 each, Anantapur 19, Kalingapatnam , Kavali, Jangamaheswarapuram, Tirupati 20 each, Bapatla, Machilipatnam, Nellore, Arogyavaram 21 each, Visakhapatnam 22, Ongole, Visakhapatnam Airport, Nandyal 23 each, Kakinada, Narsapur 24 each, Tuni, Vijayawada 25 each.
