Vijayawada: Vijayawada city Police Commissioner D Goutam Sawang said that police will divert the traffic in the city from 6 am to 12 pm on January 26 on the occasion of the Republic Day celebrations at the Indira Gandhi Municipal Stadium as Governor of Andhra Pradesh E S L Narasimhan, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and other VIPs will participate in the Republic Day celebrations.
The Police Commissioner appealed to the people to follow traffic curbs. He said that A1 car pass holders will come from IGMS gate No 1 to participate in the RD celebrations and B1 car pass holders also should come from IGMS gate No 2. V car pass holders should come from IGMS gate No 4.
All school buses should reach the stadium before 7 am and if any school bus would come after 7 am into the stadium, the police will not allow their vehicles,” he added.
He said that the police department will not allow the walkers into IGMS due to security reasons.
