District Collector Kona Sasidhar has directed all Tahsildhars to strictly implement the model code of conduct which will be in force from February 6 to March 18, for the MLC elections to Teachers and Graduates constituency. 

Anantapur: District Collector Kona Sasidhar has directed all Tahsildhars to strictly implement the model code of conduct which will be in force from February 6 to March 18, for the MLC elections to Teachers and Graduates constituency.

Tahsildhars will be responsible for enforcement of model code of conduct on a day-to-day basis, the Collector said and asked to send reports everyday to the district headquarters.

Addressing a review meeting via video conference here on Wednesday, Sasidhar said that the contesting candidates should get the approval of the Media Certification and Monitoring Committee (MCMC) before releasing their advertisements to either print media, electronic media or
social media.

Also, permission should be obtained for advertisements in hoardings. Law and order reports also should be sent on a daily basis to the Returning Officer.

The Collector said that flying squads also should send reports on model code of conduct violation. Funds will be made available for election related expenditure on a priority basis and secondly for drought relief works. DRO Malleshwari Devi was also present.
