Tirupati: The police foiled the CITU and TTD Contract Employees Union (TTDCEU) leaders ‘Chalo TTD Board’ attempt here on Tuesday.

A large number of CITU activists and also the TTDCEU members were detained by police at various places in Tirumala, who tried to march towards the TTD office building.

 The CITU and the TTDCEU have been demanding the TTD management to hike minimum wages of contract and outsourced employees from Rs 6,000 to Rs 18,000 per month.

The union leaders gave a call of Chalo TTD Board as the TTD Board meeting was scheduled on Tuesday. The activists and leaders, who were detailed, were let off after completion of board meeting.

 CITU State leader Ajay has slammed TTD Chairman Ch Krishnamurthy for not resolving the problems of contract and outsourced employees.
