Eluru: District Collector K Bhaskar said that every household in the district would be provided with cable, telephone and the Internet facility at a mere cost of Rs.149 under the Fiber Grid Project by March 31 this year.
While reviewing the progress of optical fiber grid connections with AP Fiber Grid Project officials here at the Collectorate on Tuesday, the Collector said that the government was extending fiber digital services to the people at a less cost.
The fiber grid is aimed at giving connection on demand to all the people in the district, he added. 11.60 lakh houses have already been identified in the district for this purpose, said the Collector.
He directed the fiber grid officials to install connection to every household and provide qualitative digital services. In addition to this, 909 grama panchayat offices, anganwadi centres, PHCs and 3,800 schools and government offices in the district would be connected through the fiber, he added.
The Collector directed the fiber grid officials to post day-day connection work details online. In connection with this, meeting will be held every Friday fiber grid officials, informed the Collector.
