Vijayawada: City crime police arrested a six-member gang including two minors and recovered cash of Rs 4.13 lakh, a Tata Safari vehicle and two bikes from their possession.

The accused along with two others robbed cash from the Bombay Andhra Transport company in one town under the Kothapeta police station limits. Four of the accused were produced in the court and the two minors were sent to juvenile home on Saturday. Two other accused are at large.

Joint Commissioner of police P Hari Kumar produced the members of the gang before the media at Governorpet Police Station and informed the details of the robbery in Bombay Andhra Transport company which took place in the last week of January, 2017.

Abdul Gouse alias Annamaiah of Payakapuram, Kollati Radhakrishna, Marupeddi Manikantha alias Ayyappa and Tammisetty Srikanth of Krishna Lanka were arrested in connection with the robbing of cash from Bombay-Andhra transport.

Abdul Gouse is a worker in Bombay-Andhra Transport and masterminded the sketch to rob the cash from the office. He along with seven other accused broke into the office and robbed cash last month.

The two town police with the help of CC camera footage identified the culprits and arrested them. The police also recovered a Tata Safari vehicle and two bikes, which were also lifted by the gang.

The accused have tried to destroy the CC camera installed in the office and computer hard disk to destroy evidence. The main accused Abdul was also involved in other robbery cases in Governorpet and Krishna lanka areas.
