Tirupati: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu government has failed in the two vital aspects –ensuring good governance and also upliftment of poor, said CPM Politburo member BV Raghavulu.

Raghavulu while disputing the CM’s claims that he had a meeting with Microsoft chief Satya Nadella in Mumbai on Wednesday on the good governance through remarkable initiatives and registering impressive growth rate which is much more than national growth rate, said the ground reality was quite different.

Speaking to media here on Thursday, the Left party leader said that the condition of poor turned from bad to worse in the State revealing that its impressive development failed to improve their lot while the corruption which became rampant making mockery of good governance.

He vehemently opposed government taking away the lands of poor including SC, ST and weaker sections in the name of development for setting up industries, leaving the rich and influential sections untouched in the land acquisition.

Stating that CM claims on the development of the state is hollow, Raghavulu cited Finance Minister Y Ramakrishnudu who himself confessed that the increase in the collection of taxes was only 13 per cent against the expected 36 per cent this year revealing poor state of affairs.

Expressing his apprehension on government doing away with SC, ST sub-plan in the ensuring state budget, he said CPM would resist any move to repeal or diluting SC, ST sub-plan concept which he said essential for the development of oppressed classes. CPM district secretary K Kumar Reddy and others were also present.
