Vijayawada: YSRCP president and Leader of Opposition in Assembly Y S Jaganmohan Reddy said on Friday that Agriculture Minister Prathipati Pulla Rao had purchased the AgriGold land on January 19, 2015 and sold it subsequently. He alleged that Prathipati had purchased the land in the name of his wife Venkayamma after the police booked the case on AgriGold and conducted raid in Vijayawada office.

He demanded CBI probe under the supervision of sitting High Court judge on the whole scam and purchase of Agri Gold properties by big hawks including some MPs. Jaganmohan Reddy convened a press conference at the R & B guest house here on Friday and displayed xerox copies of the registration of the copy of the AgriGold land in 2015.

He further said the police have conducted a raid on the AgriGold office in Vijayawada on December 4 and newspapers published the news on December 5, 2014. He said the Minister Prathipati had purchased land belonging to AgriGold in January 2015 after the police booked cases against the company. He further added the land was sold by Uday Dinakar, one of the director’s of the Haailand, which is the property of AgriGold company.

He displayed the xerox copies of the land owned by AgriGold director Dinakar and changed hands to Venkayamma. He alleged the Assembly speaker Kodela Siva Prasada Rao had not given him a chance to speak in the Assembly on Friday though he pleaded to give him only 20 minutes to explain the allegations he levelled against Pulla Rao.

Jaganmohan Reddy said Prathipati Pulla Rao is just an ant in the mega scam and many hawks are there in the whole episode and they should be booked. He questioned why the Haailand property, Yarada property and Atihoya shopping complex belonging to AgriGold are not put for auction.

Y S Jagan said only AgriGold chairman and one director was arrested though eight family members were accused in the scam. He said there are many allegations that some MPs and Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu’s son Nara Lokesh was also involved in the scam. He said the names of the big hawks would come out if the state government conducts fair probe.
