Grand reception for Hevalambi
Public, public representatives and government officials welcomed the Telugu New Year Hevalambi and celebrated the Ugadi with fervour and gaiety. The temples in the Ongole, Chirala and all other places witnessed a large number of devotees offering special poojas.

The district administration celebrated Ugadi at the Bacchala Balaiah Kalyanamandapam on Wednesday. The transport, roads and buildings minister Sidda Raghava Rao, Ongole MLA Damacharla Janardhan, MLCs Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy, Pothula Suneetha and district collector Sujatha Sharma started the celebrations by lighting the lamp.
Speaking on the occasion, the minister said that the Chief Minister is working hard to keep the state in top position in the development and wished the New Year will bring all happiness and success. Srinivasulu Reddy, Janardhan, Sujatha Sharma wished that there will be enough rains to support the farmers and bring real joy to their families. Cultural programs, Panchanga Sravanam and Kavi Sammelanam enthralled the audience.
