Vijayawada: When new entrants in TDP allgedly given good treatment at the cost of self-respect of hardcore supporters, a staunch supporter of the party committed suicide by hanging himself in a lodge at Kondapalli, near here on Wednesday.

The suicide created sensation in the party circles as the TDP activist wrote suicide note addressed to party national general secretary Nara Lokesh and uploaded it on Facebook. He was identified as Appasani Eeswar of Gaddamanugu village in G Kondur mandal in Krishna district.

The incident reflected the simmering discontent in the party’s grass root level workers over the VIP treatment given to new entrants. Eeswar worked as vice-president of TDP student wing for some time.
Trouble started, when his rivals from the same village joined the TDP.

Slowly, Eeswar began to lose grip over the party affairs. An optimist Eeswar waited for time expecting the party would recognise him and don’t belittle him before rivals. However, the party honoured the late entrants with posts while neglecting staunch supporters.

He could not digest this and brought the issue to the notice of the party leaders at every possible platform, but to no avail. The leaders did not pay much attention on the party worker’s ordeals at the hands of new entrants.

The reluctant attitude of the leadership energised the new entrants, who began creating troubles for Eeswar. Fed up with the party affairs, Eeswar decided to shun politics to save members of his family. He chose to end life. But before doing that he wrote to party leader Nara Lokesh.

In a two-page letter he explained in details his troubles at the hands of new entrants. “I have worked for the party till my last breath. No matter even if workers like me would not get posts. But save the party from the newly joining leaders,” he quoted in his letter.
