Chittoor MP to boycott Ambedkar fete

Though Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has commitment to fulfill the aspirations and ambitions of Dr. Ambedkar, the implementing agencies of SC welfare schemes are highly reluctant towards the development of oppressed section in the state he opined.
Speaking to The Hans India here on Thursday, Chittoor MP who belongs to SC community has expressed his serious concern over the apparent lapses of the government in fulfilling the objectives of Dr. Ambedkar. He declared that there was no representation of SC Minister in Rayalaseema region.
No SC is given a Corporation Chairman post. No SC district officer is kept in a key post. Discrimination against the SCs is witnessed in each track, the MP decried. It is significant to add that Dr. Siva Prasad has firmly decided to boycott the proposed Dr. Ambedkar’s birth anniversary celebration to be held by April 14 at Chittoor. “It was decided a year ago to erect 125- feet high Ambedkar statue at Amaravati, but no action has been initiated in the regard”, he said.
