Farmers block Taderu-Bhimavaram road
Paddy farmers staged a dharna and rasta roko at Taderu village in Bhimavaram mandal on Monday in protest against government not opening the IKP Centres to purchase the paddy from the farmers.Earlier, the farmers took out a rally from the village and reached the Taderu centre with paddy bags and started agitation.

They alleged that the government did not open IKP centres and millers are not purchasing the paddy. They expressed concerns over the non-payment of previous sale proceeds. “Even after one year, the government did not pay the amount,” they charged. The millers have expressed their helplessness as they were restrictions on purchase of paddy. The traffic was stranded on the busy Bhimavaram-Taderu route over hours. Later, the farmers withdraw their protest.
