Soon after arriving at 10.30 am at Puttaparthi airport, he would be leaving to Pamidi mandal to participate in the launching of 80,001st farm pond at Kalapuram village.

Anantapur: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will be arriving in the district on a 6-hour visit on Thursday morning to participate in a series of programmes. Soon after arriving at 10.30 am at Puttaparthi airport, he would be leaving to Pamidi mandal to participate in the launching of 80,001st farm pond at Kalapuram village.

Highlights:

  • Will address a meeting of Water Users Association at KTR Conference Hall.

Later, he would participate in viewing a pictorial exhibition at the Government Junior College grounds and soon after will address a public meeting. Later, he will return by helicopter to reach Shilparamam where a helipad has been constructed. He would then reach KTR Conference Hall in the city at 2.45 pm and address a meeting of Water Users Association members and office bearers. He will later reach Shilparamam which is on the outskirts of the city and inaugurate it.

Soon after, he would return to the state capital by helicopter at 5 pm. Meanwhile, Information and Housing Minister Kalava Srinivasulu, former Minister Palle Raghunatha Reddy, local MLA Prabhakar Chowdary, District Collector Kona Sasidhar and SP Rajasekhar Babu visited Pamidi and reviewed the arrangements being made for the Chief Minister's visit.

Speaking to the media after the review meeting, Kalava said that it is heartening thing to the people to know that the Chief Minister will be celebrating his birthday in the district. “During the past couple of years, the Chief Minister celebrated his birthday twice in the district. This reflects on the Chief Minister's special love and affection for the district,” he added. The Minister said that even former Chief Minister NT Rama Rao too showed love on the district and uplifted the district on many fronts.

Palle Raghunatha Reddy spoke on the success of farm pond revolution ushered in the district by the Chief Minister. He said that the Chief Minister is committed to develop the district on all fronts and effectively combat drought with determination. Local MLA Prabhakar Chowdary stated digging of 80,000 farm ponds was a major feat achieved in the district.

He said that due to the visionary leadership of the Chief Minister, the district would soon come out of the clutches of drought and poverty. Kona Sasidhar also spoke detailing on the elaborate arrangements being made for the Chief Minister's visit to the district.
