Speaking on the occasion, Adinarayana Reddy said water would be released to Gandikota project and Mylavaram reservoir if there are plenty of rains this year. He also said Rs 7 crore was spent towards National Rural Employment Guarantee scheme. Somireddy said thousands of acres were irrigated under Pattiseema lift irrigation project, which was opposed by many. “Every house should have rain harvesting structures.

Farmers should dig farm-ponds,” he added. The Minister claimed that chilli farmers’ problems were solved. Further, he said the state government took a decision to announce Rs 6,500 per quintal for the first grade turmeric and Rs 6,000 per quintal for the second grade turmeric. Revenue Divisional Officer K Vinayakam and officials concerned were among the present.
