Vedic Science Club GITAM floats social enterprise project
The Vedic Science Club GITAM comprising a 20-member team of GITAM School of Gandhian Studies, GITAM University, floated a social enterprise project called-‘R3’- Reduce, Recycle and Reuse’ and tied up with NGOs JJ Foundation and Rotract Club of GITAM University.
Visakhapatnam: The Vedic Science Club GITAM comprising a 20-member team of GITAM School of Gandhian Studies, GITAM University, floated a social enterprise project called-‘R3’- Reduce, Recycle and Reuse’ and tied up with NGOs JJ Foundation and Rotract Club of GITAM University.
Club representative Naresh Kumar Reddy told reporters here on Tuesday that the new project involved different activities in three basic stages-Collection of old and used note books or text books from urban schools, recycling the collected material through International Paper PPM Company, Rajahmundry, and distribution of recycled note books to children of government schools.
He disclosed that the International Paper PPM Company has agreed to recycle the used paper free of cost as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility Initiative (CSR) and an MoU has been signed with the company. He said that Akshaya Patra, an NGO, which is providing mid-day meals to schools, is also supporting the new project.
