Cong stages dharna against price hike of Vijaya milk
Congress staged a dharna at Bhavanipuram here on Sunday protesting against the price hike of Vijaya milk. Addressing the protest, state Congress general secretary Meesala Rajeswara Rao said that Vijaya dairy increased the price Rs 2 per litre and Rs 1 on 200 ml packets.
Vijayawada: Congress staged a dharna at Bhavanipuram here on Sunday protesting against the price hike of Vijaya milk. Addressing the protest, state Congress general secretary Meesala Rajeswara Rao said that Vijaya dairy increased the price Rs 2 per litre and Rs 1 on 200 ml packets.
He alleged that it was not correct to increase the price though the dairy was making profits. “It seems that Vijaya Dairy is trying to make it easy to the Chief Minister’s Heritage Company to enter into the district which is not familiar to local people,” he alleged. People have to bear Rs 5 on buying of five 200 ml packets of milk, but the price hike would not transfer to farmers, he said. APCC general secretary Akula Srinivas, party leaders P Seshu, P Chanti Babu and others participated.
