The Municipal Corporation of Rajamahendravaram (MCR) has resolved that the government should establish Godavari Urban Development Authority (GUDA) office in the city instead of Kakinada.

The MCR council unanimously demanded the state government to establish the GUDA office for the convenience and interests of public as the cultural capital of the state - Rajamahendravaram-is well connected with road, rail and air.

Ex-Officio member and city MLA Dr Akula Satyanarayana said that establishment of GUDA office in Rajamahendravaram will facilitate people of not only the city, but also people who come under GUDA purview as the city is in main line.

His argument was supported by TDP MLC Adireddy Apparao, Mayor P. Rajani Sesha Sai, Deputy Mayor Vasireddy Rambabu, YSRCP floor leader M. Sharmila Reddy, TDP floor leader Varre Srinivasa Rao and others.

Earlier, the Mayor in her address said that Rajamahendravaram got 46th place in All India ranks in Swachh Sarvekshan and the MCR is going to get funds with this ranking.

She said that Pushkaralu pending works were going on at a brisk pace and asked the engineering department to complete MCR new office building at the earliest.

The Mayor said that students who studied in Corporation School got very good results in recently declared SSC results and the Super-60 batch which is the brainchild of Commissioner V Vijayaramaraju has achieved top scores.

MLA Dr Akula and others congratulated the Super-60 batch and also the Commissioner, but suggested not to admit the students in corporate colleges.
