10 lakh houses in next 2 years: Kantilal Dande
Kantilal Dande, Managing Director and ex-officio secretary of the AP State Housing Corporation, said they are planning to construct 10 lakh houses in the next two years. He interacted with officials at new ZP Conference Hall here on Friday and said there are 6.5 lakh houses are under construction prior to the launch of NTR Housing Scheme and another 6 lakh houses after launching of the scheme.

The total of 12.5 lakh houses has to be constructed in the state. He asked officials to select beneficiaries for 4 lakh houses which would be taken up between 2017 and 2019. The senior official said they had identified around 32 lakh poor families, who are not having houses in the state. We arrived at number based on smart pulse survey in the state, he added. He said that they would recruit assistant engineers and works inspectors shortly. District Collector Mutyala Raju and other officials also present.
