Absence of contractors irks Minister Devineni Umamaheswara Rao

Tirupati: Irrigation Minister Devineni Umamaheswara Rao has irked by the absence of original contractors in a review meeting held on NTR Telugu Ganga project here on Friday. He said, “original contractors must attend the meeting not the sub contractors. In the next meeting, they should attend”. The Minister directed officials concerned to complete Balaji reservoir and Mallemadugu reservoir by May 2018. To settle the forest proposals and land acquisition problems, an expert committee will be sent on May 23, the Minister disclosed.

He instructed the contracting agencies in the district to come up with an action plan to complete all the reservoirs in the district. The Chief Engineer and Superintending Engineer were requested to improve progress by mobilising machinery. Handri-Neeva Sujala Sravanthi phase-II balance works have to be completed as early as possible, he said. Industries Minister N Amarnath Reddy and several other engineers were present.
