The Visakhapatnam Port has added another feather to its cap by emerging as the second cleanest port among all major ports in the country, next to Haldia in the Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan-2017.

Visakhapatnam Port Trust (VPT) chairman MT Krishna Babu has received the prestigious award from the Union minister for road transport, highways and shipping Nitin Gadkari for the effective implementation of Swachh Bharat, at a function held in Goa on Saturday.
The Quality Council of India (QCI), appointed by the Ministry of shipping has visited all major ports to evaluate the implementation of Swachh Bharat by taking various parameters into consideration including cleaning the wharf, repairs to sheds, auction and disposal of unserviceable items and others.
