He took this decision to contain road accidents. Recently, Director General of Police N Sambasiva Rao conducted a meeting on the ANU premises and directed the Superintendents of Police to take steps to curb deaths occurring due to mishaps.
Drunken driving is one of the reasons for road accidents. The police department is registering cases against drunken drivers to check road accidents. Second time they are imposing heavy penalties and magistrates sending the drunken drivers to jails.
