The education department is making preparations to distribute free books to the students studying in the government and aided students at free of cost.

Meanwhile education department today launched 'Badi Baata' programme to admit the school going aged children in the school. During this programme, the teachers will motivate the parents of the students to send their children to the schools and benefits of education and ask them to schools.

District Education Officer N.Raghukumar said he will conduct awareness programmes on Badi Baata programme to make it a grand success. We are making arrangements to distribute the text books to the students studying in the government and aided schools.

We will distribute free uniform from 1 to 8th class students studying in the government schools. Uniform will be distributed to 4.25 lakh students in the district. About 18-lakh text books will be distributed free of cost. In addition to this NGOs are coming forward to distribute free notes books to the students".
