Eluru: YSRCP Central Committee member and MLC Ummareddy Venkateswarlu alleged that a wicked rule is continuing in Andhra Pradesh which did not save the farmers.

He took part as the chief guest at the YSRCP West Godavari unit plenary meeting here on Sunday.Speaking on the occasion, he alleged that the TDP leaders were adopting anarchic policies and encouraging corruption.

He said that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu’s speech at Kurnool Iftar party had hurt the feelings of Muslims. He wondered if Naidu had suffered with any physiological disorder while addressing the meeting.

Ummareddy criticised Chandrbabu Naidu stating that he does not know about the significance of first signature. He pointed out that when NTR was the Chief Minister, he had first signed on Rs 2-a-Kg rice scheme and it was still being implemented in the State.

He also pointed out that Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy had first signed on free power file which is also being implemented now.
Though Naidu had signed on files relating to banning belt shops and implementation of loan waiver, he had failed to fulfill the promises, Ummareddy said. He stated that about 4,380 liquor shops were existing in the State and another 40,000 belt shops were also being operated.

While the government was supposed to waive farm loans worth Rs 87,512 crore, it could only waive loans to the tune of Rs 9,850 crore.

He expressed concern over the plight of farmers in Krishna and Godavari districts. He pointed out that the farmers were taking up cultivation by taking loans from private lenders.

Ummareddy wondered why Naidu withdrew his demand for grant of Special Status to the State and had settled for a special package. He also flayed the Chief Minister for encouraging defections and allowing Opposition MLAs to join his party.

Former Minister Botcha Satyanarayana, YSRCP district observer and MLC Pilli Subhash Chandrabose, MLC Alla Nani and party leaders Karumuri Nageswara Rao, Grandhi Srinivas, Ghanta Murali Ramakrishna, Patapati Sarraju, Tellam Balaraju, Taneti Vanita, party leaders Meka Seshu Babu, Koyye Moshen Raju, Kotagiri Sridhar and others participated in the meeting.
