Tirupati: Local MLA M Suguna on Sunday criticised YSR Congress party Chandragiri MLA Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy for opposing the setting up of waste based energy plant near Ramapuram dumping yard.

She also alleged that it was Reddy who instigated the villagers taking up a `road blockade’ recently preventing the municipal corporation trucks carrying garbage from the city to dump in the yard, causing lot of inconvenience to the people in the pilgrim city.

Interestingly the MLA and other local leaders who have been remaining silent on the obstruction of garbage disposal by Chandragiri MLA and his followers came out openly against him today only after Municipal Administration minister P Narayana lashed at YSRCP leaders including Bhaskar Reddy and Bhumana Karunakar Reddy party state general secretary from the city.

According to sources, Municipal administration minister P Narayana who came here Sunday to resolve the burning dumping yard issue and also `scavenger’s colony’ held a meeting with the officials and later with MLA and local TDP leaders.

In the meetings he came down heavily on Chandragiri MLA Bhaskar Reddy for obstructing garbage disposal and also on Karunakar Reddy YSRCP general secretary who is from the city for not restraining his party MLA. Meanwhile, Chandragiri MLA Bhaskar Reddy and 34 others who were arrested by the police on Friday in Ramapuram were lodged in Chittoor Jail.
