Ramzan celebrated with fervour
The Muslim fraternity in the Prakasam district celebrated the Eid-ul-Fitr, the Ramzan festival on Monday. The Edgahs at Ongole, Kanigiri, Darsi, Kandukur, Singarayakonda, Chirala and other places witnessed thousands of devotees who read out \'Takbir\', heard \'Bayan\' from the imam and participated in the Fitr prayers.

The children and youth applied Surma to the eyes as a continuation of the tradition and exchanged hugs in love and respect. The Muslim families who quit the 'Roza' on Ramzan shared 'Sheer Korma’ and ‘Biryani' with the neighbours and Hindu friends and wished that they live in harmony forever.
The Ongole MLA Damacharla Janardhan, MLC Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy participated in the prayers held at the Edgah in Ongole and wished the Muslims all prosperity and happiness in the coming days.
