Rupees 20 lakh worth ganja seized
Vizianagaram police seized huge quantity of ganja while they were conducting random checking of vehicles in Jami Mandal of Vizianagaram district on Monday. Sub Inspector Raju informed that the police party conducted a check on the vehicles which were coming from Araku and found a suspicious vehicle at Lakshmi Puram village.
Jami(Vizianagaram): Vizianagaram police seized huge quantity of ganja while they were conducting random checking of vehicles in Jami Mandal of Vizianagaram district on Monday. Sub Inspector Raju informed that the police party conducted a check on the vehicles which were coming from Araku and found a suspicious vehicle at Lakshmi Puram village.
The passengers in that vehicle after seeing the police, abandoned the SUV and fled from the spot. The police found huge quantity of ganja from the vehicle. The ganja was packed in 28 small packets brought from Araku area. As per the initial estimation, the cost of the ganja would be around Rs.20 lakh in international market.
The case has been booked and the vehicle seized. Jami, L.Kota and S.Kota are near to Vizag agency, from where the ganja is coming to plain areas through middle men and later reaching to metropolitan cities like Chennai, Kolkata and others.
