Guntur: Police today arrested Mangalagiri MLA Alla Rama Krishna Reddy in connection with Penumaka case, who was later released on station bail.

Tadepalli police registered the case against MLA Alla Rama Krishna Reddy and his followers following complaint filed by the Capital Region Development Authority officials. The MLA questioned the CRDA officials for not writing minutes for the meeting held for land acquisition in Penumaka.

This angered the CRDA officials, who lodged a complaint against the MLA and farmers. So far the police arrested ten farmers who attended the meeting in support of MLA Alla Rama Krishna Reddy.

The MLA went to Tadepalli police station on Thursday, signed the record register and came back. Speaking to The Hans India, Reddy said “Following instructions of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, the CRDA officials lodged a complaint against me. The government is not taking Land Acquisition Act, court orders seriously.

I will fight against anti-people policies of the government. Ministers and MLA are attacking the officials. I asked the CRDA officials to write minutes as the CRDA officials conducted a meeting to elicit public opinion on land acquisition in Penumaka. After registering the complaint, I was out of station. As soon as I came back, I went to the police station to be arrested and released on station bail”.
