Anantapur: City MLA Prabhakar Chowdary has taken strong exception to opposition YSRCP criticism of his performance saying that he fullfiled five election promises which he made including establishment of Shilparamam, tackling water problem in Anantapur constituency, taking steps for establishment of super specialty hospital and underground drainage system and planning of a ring road for the city.

Addressing a press conference here on Saturday at the local press club, Prabhakar said that he raised more than 100 questions concerning his constituency in the Assembly and never once missed an Assembly session.

He said that Rs 124 crores was sanctioned for the ring road around the city. He said that the ring road will be aligned with Anantapur-Amaravati 6-lane road and Anantapur-Giddalur road. The Shilparamam with modern gymnasium is the best in the state, he added.

The works for the super specialty hospital had already commenced at a cost of Rs 170 crore. The problems in the government hospital is being addressed daily. The water scheme also has been executed by replacement of old pipelines at a cost of Rs 191 crore. “Overhead tanks have been built at several locations in the city.

The grand old Peace Memorial building of the British era is now converted into a museum. The Roads and Buildings guest house has also been modernised. New and special buses have also been introduced to Amaravati,” he explained. The MLA said that Anantapur has been selected for development as smart city.
