Amaravati: CPI state secretary K Ramakrishna asked the people to oppose both the regional parties-Telugu Desam and YSR Congress-for playing selfish politics.

Speaking to media persons here on Tuesday, he said his party would conduct a regional council meeting in Ongole for two days from July 17. He asked the people to stall the ruling and opposition parties in the state.

He criticised the leadership of both parties for encouraging their family members as next generation leaders like business tycoons. Their leadership is making allegations against each other and wondered how they would deliver good governance to public.

He said the government did not do any favour to farming sector. He wondered how Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu claims to continue in power for next three decades. Similarly, YSR Congress also made statements in the same lines, he said. He alleged both the parties are ready with Rs 25 crore each for spending in Nandyal by-election.

He said the proposed state plenary of CPI would discuss farmers’ issues and added that the BJP government too failed to implement the recommendations of Swaminathan Commission.
