With speculation doing the rounds that Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu is a likely contender for the Vice-Presidential post, Ministers from Andhra Pradesh, however, wish that he should continue in active politics.

Deputy Chief Minister KE Krishnamurthy, HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao and Civil supplies minister Prathipati Pulla Rao expressed the same opinion that even though the Vice-President is a respectable position, Venkaiah Naidu should continue as Union Minister.

Stating that the Telugu states need the Minister's help, Ganta Srinivas Rao said that Venkaiah Naidu might not be able to do so if he takes up the Constitutional post.

Prathipati Pulla Rao added that the public of South India is also on the same opinion while the Deputy CM said that Venkaiah Naidu's services are needed for the development of Andhra Pradesh.
